International Everest Day 2021

Pakistan Association of New Zealand (PANZ) President Mr Naveed Hamid, its Advisory Board member Mr Asim Mukhtar, and its media wing coordinator Mr Adnan Sharif attended International Everest Day celebrations at New Zealand parliament on Wednesday 9 June 2021. The event was hosted by member of parliament Dr Gaurav Sharma and The Nepal Society of Wellington at New Zealand parliament.

International Everest Day is observed in the memory of New Zealand’s Sir Edmund Hillary and Nepal’s Tenzing Norgay Sherpa who climbed Mount Everest for the first time on 29 May 1953.

Other ethnic communities’ leaders, dignitaries, government officials and parliamentarians were present at the event. PANZ have been participating and celebrating other ethnic communities’ events, which add Pakistan representation within the diverse communities.

PANZ would like to thank member of parliament Dr Gaurav Sharma and The Nepal Society of Wellington for their invite and their warm hospitality they offered to PANZ team at the event.
