Asalaam-o-Alaikum / Kia Ora
Dear Respected Community Members,

As you would be aware, a new Ministry for Ethnic communities has been launched by the New Zealand government to assist and integrate the migrant communities in their engagement with the NZ public sector. This to tailor the policies relevant to the ethnic communities and to have the ethnic voices in the government’s policies and procedures.

Yesterday was the inauguration of the office of the Ministry for Ethnic communities in Auckland. Representatives from most key ethnic organizations were invited. Honourable Ethnic communities Minister Ms Priyanca Radhakrishnan, Chief Executive of the Ministry Mr Mervin Singham, MPs and senior Ministry officials were in presence.

PANZ president Naveed Hamid & women wing Lead Eimaan Hamid represented the Pakistani community. Principal advisor Mr Farrukh Gul Qaisrani also participated, in his capacity as Auckland City Council Board member. Matters relevant to the Pakistani community were discussed, especially the immigration issues and job internships for the ethnic/Pakistani graduates. The input was much appreciated by the officials and the Minister.

PANZ is committed to continue voicing the issues relevant to the Pakistani community and its interests and we always appreciate your support in this. We can only achieve this collectively.
