“15 March Memorial Cricket Day”
Australian Federal Police visited Christchurch and played two cricket games against Muslim teams in 2019. This event was going to be a yearly event, and to be repeated every year.
Marist Harewood Cricket Club (MHCC) in association with Federation of Islamic Associations of New Zealand (FIANZ) and Pakistan Association of New Zealand (PANZ) is organizing “15 March Memorial Cricket Day” on Sunday 7 March 2021 at MHCC grounds, Redwood Park, Christchurch. Australian Federal Police is unable to visit this year unfortunately due to Covid-19 restrictions, and therefore, they’ll be represented by New Zealand local cricket players.
There will be two games – T20 game, and a 30 overs game – played on the “15 March Memorial Cricket Day.
You are hereby invited to attend the event and support the cause. Community members, families, children and anyone is welcomed to join the event. There will be fun activities for children and youth at the Redwood park organized by MHCC.
The opening ceremony will start at 9.30am following by T20 cricket game at 10.00am. The event will go for the day and expected to conclude by 7.30pm.
