Pakistan Association of New Zealand (PANZ) organised Eid Ul Fitre Eid Millan event at Westlake Boys High School, North Shore Auckland on Saturday 5 June 2021. The purpose of the event was to organise a community meet and greet after the Eid Ul Fitre and after everyone had gone through their own Eid catch-ups.

Pakistan community had shown an overwhelming interest in the event. Over 330 Pakistani community members including community elders, and families with children attended the event.



Guests started to arrive at 1.00pm and enjoyed meet and greet with the community members. The programme had a brief formal part. Quran recitation, Naat Rasool E Maqbool, and overview of health and safety was provided to the attendees during the formal part of the event. PANZ team, particularly PANZ coordinator North Shore Mr Umar Amjad were introduced to the community. PANZ president Mr Naveed Hamid individually introduced PANZ executive council members, advisory board, wings’ heads, and area coordinators. He thanked Pakistani community members for taking time and attending the event.

Many Pakistani children presented an inspiring display at the stage and echoed the venue hall with Pakistan Zinda Abad slogans. Pakistani national songs were played in the background. Community members took photos for their memorabilia at the designated ‘Eid Mubarak’ Photo Booth.

Buffet lunch with Pakistani foods and dessert was offered. Attendees enjoyed the food and hospitality.

Children received Eidi bags and Pakistani national flags.

The event depicted Pakistani culture, hospitality, and traditions. Many Pakistani community members were able to meet with each other for the first time.

PANZ received a large number of compliments from the community members for the successful organisation and management of the event.
