PANZ Free Food Drive

PANZ Free Food Drive

Thank you for your support to PANZ towards holding free food drive on Saturday 02 October 2021. PANZ believes in social cohesion and have effectively operated several campaigns to support wider communities. Food drives are a critical part of our mission of helping families and community members who need food and a little extra support in difficult times. We know it is an effective way to support our neighbouring communities in need.

PANZ food distribution camp was set up yesterday at 108 Station Road Otahuhu. This free food distribution was for the wider whanau and not for any specific nationality or ethnicity. The food drive was supported by our fellow charitable organization, the Supreme Sikh Society.

PANZ team worked tirelessly on Friday and Saturday and prepared 500 food parcels which included a range of grocery items of everyday use. The response we received was overwhelming and members from various ethnic communities and nationalities participated and appreciated the initiative. PANZ team also did their best to adhere to the safety protocols. All possible measures relevant to the Covid protocols were taken and implemented.

While the 500 food parcel numbers looked great, the reality was a great deal of support required and needed in the wider community. This was not PANZ first food drive and we were committed that neither it would be the last. We consider ourselves blessed to be able to assist our whanau in whatever capacity we can.

A huge thanks to our major partner Supreme Sikh Society and our media partner Radio Apna for their continuous support. PANZ also would like to acknowledge NZ Police for participating in our free food drive. Members of the Counties Manukau Police remained with us throughout the distribution process and physically helped our team in preparing and placing food parcels in the vehicles.

Last but not least, a huge thanks to our team of PANZ volunteers and officials who helped us and made this food bag drive a successful one. May ALLAH bless our communities and our country; we need your support in this charitable cause in future as well.
